Hi, I'm Melissa!
I am the cake pop artist behind Island Girl Cake Pops. I was born and raised in the Tampa Bay Area and began making custom cakes in 2009. Soon after, I discovered cake pops and decided to try my hand at it. I was hooked! They were so well received by customers that, in 2010, I decided to offer cake pops exclusively, and I haven't looked back! Island Girl Cake Pops quickly became the top choice for custom cake pops in the Tampa Bay Area and was featured in several magazines and blogs such as Style Me Pretty, 100 Layer Cake, Catch My Party, Yum for Kids, Tattle, and many more.

Although I was thrilled with the success of my cake pops, and loved every minute of making them, I felt I needed to step away and devote more time to my family and raising our two amazing boys. Now, our boys are all grown and both in culinary school themselves! One is pursuing a career in pastry arts while the other is focusing on gourmet comfort foods. The two hope to open their own food truck one day and mom couldn't be more proud! I feel now is the perfect time for me to go back to what I love!
